signs and wonders
So I just had a thought, and maybe it's silly, or crazy. But I was just wondering, could all of the explosions, natural disasters, volcanic eruptions be symbolic of the spiritual battle that is taking place on earth. Could they be pictures of the power of God against satan. The reflection of spiritual warfare against God's saints, all of us Christians that fight the good fight, to win the war against the enemy. When I hear of all of these things happening, and see pictures on the news, my mind and emotions takes over and I instantly feel sorry for the people who are suffering from the disaster. But in that time, I should be praying that in the midst of the storm, God would intervene in the lives of those people, like never before. That thier faith would increase, and that thier worldy values would seem obsolete. Father I pray for those that are in the battle right now, that thier spirit would overflow into thier soul. That thier faith might increase, and that they would feel an overwhelming amount of comfort, peace, and strenght in Christ, Jesus. For we were made to overcome!, we have the power withing us to defeat the enemy! By His wounds We are Healed!

a day in the desert...
Got up yesterday around 8 ish, by 10:30 the baby and I were finally ready to head out for the day. Supposed to be an easy day, pick up the car and then do a little bit of shopping. Well, we arrived at the car place, and they said it was ready they were just cleaning it and then we could go, only supposed to take a few minutes. Well about 30 minutes later, after chasing the baby all over the waiting room, trying to keep her from escaping and following everyone into the dealership, the paperwork was finally ready to sign. So I pull her away from her new friend, this old man that had been talking to her and playing with her while waiting on the car, and we head out.
Called the husband to give him the latest update, never mind we've already talked twice on the way to pick up the car and this is the third call in probably less than an hour. Now we're headed off to the mall, window's down, hair blowing in the wind. Crap! no air conditioning, good thing the mall is only a few minutes away. A few minutes that seemed to take forever, while I update the husband once again, "we're at the mall, everything is good, blah blah blah..." Find what I'm looking for in the first store! Amazing!, that never happens to me. So now off to the next destination, Home!
No, another call from the husband, "while you're in town you should pick up the part for your air conditioner", never mind that this is all the way on the other side of town, and once again we still have no ac, a hot momma and baby headed off to a salvage yard to pick up a stinkin' part. Grumbles..... So now we're off to the salvage yard, arrive there and of course they act like they have no idea what I'm talking about, which really I don't, but I know enough to tell them what I need and why.
So here we are mom and baby in a testosterone rich environment, trying to pick up a part for the car. "My husband called yesterday, we need a fuse box for a (not important, but make and model of my car)____, it's under the hood, not in the dash." Sounds pretty clear to me, right?.... So after looking at me ridiculously, and looking on the computer for a few awkward minutes, the guy behind the desk replies, yes i think we have something. It will be a little while. (Only he mumbled all of his words with a thick Spanish accent, and I could barely make out that much). So we wait again.... And of course the baby manages to make some more friends with two other men that came into the building, while we were waiting. Talked to the husband, again... "yes, we're waiting, they think they have one..."
Finally get the part we need, and we're headed off to eat, it's almost 2 o'clock by now and the baby and I have only had breakfast. So I decide, we'll eat at target and since the baby's being so good we can get her some more books while were there. Sounded good in my head, except that I keep forgetting we still have no ac, so we sweat once again all the way back across town to Target!. Again, (another phone call)"hunny, we're fine, got the part, now we're going to go eat."
Yes, we're here! Time to eat, so hungry. So after finding out that half of the stuff on the menu is going to take ten minutes, we decided on a hot dog, simple, easy, and I can cut in into small pieces for the baby. While sitting down to eat, the baby makes friends again, a woman with her two small children, sitting at a table about two feet away. Finish eating, no books in the dollar spot this time, but a found some cute headbands and a cute outfit to only a few bucks. Head back out into the desert. (ring, ring...) "yes, hunny we ate and we'll be on our way home soon."
While leaving Target, I of course have another bright idea, we should stop by World market while we here and get the husband's favorite candy, some crunchy bars from England. So a two second drive over, pouring sweat at this point, and this is the last stop!
Got the husband's candy, finally on the way home. (ring, ring) "where are you....", "we're on our way, just have to get gas, we'll be home soon." By this point the baby and I are soaked, sticky, smelly, and tired, but we've managed to make it through. Stop to get gas on the hour drive home and finally we can cool off.
What a day! (Thank you Jesus, for keeping us safe, and keeping our spirits lifted, despite the heat).
